On 20 December 2019, an open tender will be launched for the implementation in the area of Pomeranian Voivodeship of a common system for organisers and carriers to collect fares for transport in collective passenger transport and a system of uniform passenger information.
Simplifying the name - it is a tender for the contractor of the Pomeranian integrated Fala ticket, which will enable passengers to travel with one electronic ticket throughout the voivodeship. This will be the second tender for the preparation and implementation of this system.
On 16 December 2019 at 10.00 a.m., the deadline for submitting tenders in the proceedings (conducted as a restricted tender) passed. However, the tender was cancelled as the tenders were received after the deadline indicated in the documentation.
In the new procedure, the description of the subject of the contract will not differ from the original one in terms of technical requirements. However, some formal provisions will be modified.
According to the timetable for the new tender, potential contractors for the system will have until mid-February to submit their bids. Due to the complexity of the bid examination and evaluation process, and assuming safe deadlines for appeal procedures, it is assumed that the contractor will be selected at the end of March 2020, while the contract with him will be signed in May 2020.
Recall: Pomeranian Fala Ticket is a modern system of paying for travel in public transport. The use of new technologies will allow for automation of activities related to the settlement of travel from the side of the passenger, the transport organiser and the carrier. It will be one of the most innovative integrated systems of paying for travel in public transport. A highly technologically advanced system will be created, which will include passenger accounts, information on ticket prices, bus, tram, trolleybus and train routes and timetables.
The system will include a billing application that will allow a passenger to be billed for journeys on a given route on the basis of identification in various means of transport. This identification will require the passenger to reflect in the vehicle or at a train stop on a special reader (validator). An important element of the system will also be a mobile application, which will enable planning of the route and full settlement of costs of travel by different means of transport.
Apart from preparing the IT part of the system, the contractor will also be responsible for installing nearly 500 validating devices (ticket punchers) at railway stops, 4870 devices in vehicles, preparing 300,000 special cards (NFC identification carriers) and equipping about 30 customer service points.
